No matter the size of the event, every display can be enhanced with our live "touch tank." Local live rock pool creatures such as sea stars, sea urchins, elephant snails, hermit crabs, sea cucumbers, and sea squirts will thrill your guests as they learn about the cryptic and complex rockpool ecosystem and the survival strategies of its inhabitants.

Warning!!! Roll up your sleeves—your hands will get wet and salty!
Imagine having a large rock pool right in your lounge room, filled with live sea stars, sea urchins, elephant snails, hermit crabs, decorator crabs, sea squirts, sea sponges, and sea cucumbers, just to name a few! Plus, there's a stunning collection of preserved specimens, including a green sea turtle, seahorse, shark teeth and eggs, whale bones, octopus, seadragons, coral, shells, and exoskeletons. These incredible specimens will amaze your guests!
Throughout the party, your guests will learn about the ecology of different marine species—how they survive in and out of water, what they eat, where they live, and what adaptations they have to thrive.
All of our live specimens are collected locally from Victorian waters, with a permit from Fisheries Victoria, and are safely housed in our purpose-built facility in Braeside.
Rest assured, all live specimens are safe to touch. Every child will have the opportunity to handle the live and preserved specimens on display, with the birthday child taking the lead in presenting their favorite creatures on this special day.
As a memorable keepsake, each party attendee will receive a marine specimen as a gift—and of course, the birthday child will receive one too!
We guarantee that everyone, young and old, will leave with unforgettable memories, having learned something new and captured plenty of fun photos along the way.

Southern Ocean Education is a mobile incursion that brings marine life straight to you! It’s a fantastic way to learn about the marine environment while saving on transport costs.
This unique, fun, and hands-on experience will immerse children in the mysterious world of marine life. Why go to the beach when we can bring it to you? A marine education officer will captivate the children with a vast and diverse array of marine specimens.
Preserved specimens such as whale bones, shark jaws, a green sea turtle, porcupine fish, seahorses, octopuses, shells, coral, and crab exoskeletons are just some of the fascinating things the children will be able to see and touch.
A live "touch tank" will further enthrall the children, giving them the chance to handle live sea stars, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, crabs, sea squirts, and more.
